Should your Syracuse business have an AI chatbot? An honest take
Chatbots get pushed on every small business like they're mandatory. They're not. Sometimes they're exactly right; sometimes they're a gimmick that annoys customers. Here's the honest version.
When a chatbot helps
If you get steady website traffic, lots of repeat questions, or after-hours inquiries you can't answer, a chat assistant earns its keep — qualifying leads and booking consults around the clock.
When to skip it
If your site gets little traffic, or your customers just want to call you, a chatbot adds friction without much payoff. You'd get more from fixing missed calls and follow-up first.
How to do it right
The best chatbots know their limits and hand off to a human cleanly. Done well, a visitor barely notices it's automated. Done badly, it traps people in a loop — which is worse than no bot at all.
Bottom line
A chatbot is a tool, not a strategy. If it fits how your customers actually reach you, great. If not, your dollars go further elsewhere — and we'll tell you so.
